Productivity Tools & Tips

Hi, everyone! First of all, I’d like to thank Adela for inviting me to become a regular contributor to this blog. I had offered to do a guest post and she encouraged me to consider doing a sort of test gig for three months. After only a slight bit of arm twisting, I agreed.

So, beginning in February, I’ll be blogging in this space the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. My topic is Productivity Tools and I’ll be discussing free and low cost software and services that can help you be more efficient in handling administrative tasks so you can concentrate on the coaching part of your business.

I also belong to the NCC Yahoo group and I try to be extra attentive on Techie Thursdays and answer questions there whenever possible. If you’re not a member yet, you can join by clicking on the purple box over there on the right hand side of the page.

Speaking of productivity, one of the best ways to save time AND keep up on the news and comments from your favorite blogs is to subscribe to their RSS feeds. I know you won’t want to miss any of the great content that’s provided on the NCC blog by its 10 regular writers, so set up this feed now if you haven’t already.

It’s really easy. Just type your email address into the box on the right side of this page and click on the “subscribe” button. That way you’ll get an email alert whenever there’s something new on the blog.

If you prefer to gather your feeds in a news reader, click instead on the bullet point that says “Entries RSS” under the Meta heading on the right side of the page. If you also want to be notified when new comments are posted, click on “Comments RSS.” I’ve already done this because this helps me respond more quickly to any questions you post here.

And I encourage you to do just that. Let me know what specific topics you’d like to learn more about. Tell me if there’s a particular task you’d like to automate and I’ll see if I know about (or can find) a tool to help you.

That’s why I’m here. Looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible.

  1. Great suggestions! I have both Google alerts and rss feeds set up
for topics/blogs I have interests in. I have found a lot of great
information that way that I probably would have missed without it.
I must note that I find that Google alerts misses some posts which
I find on rss feeds, so it is important to do both if you find a
blog you really like. Elizabeth Lewis http://www.eclewis.com
