Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Networking Groups But Didn’t Know Who to Ask: A Q and A with Leni Chauvin

Leni Chauvin
Leni Chauvin of Attract Clients Galore is the co-moderator for the New Coach Connection discussion list’s “Full Practice Wednesdays.” Her coaching specialty is helping business people get business. For fourteen years Leni operated a structured networking group business and has a wealth of experience she graciously shared with the new Coach Connection in a teleconference she called Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Networking Groups But Didn’t Know Who to Ask. This was an official New Coach Connection TeleForum event, the first we’ve had since last January. My thanks to Leni for taking her time to share with us.
In this one-hour conversation with an intimate group of NCC members Leni answered questions about networking groups that had been posed on the NCC discussion list and that participants on the call asked. It is jam-packed with Leni’s insights and observations from her extensive experience. Some questions were “What is a networking group? What is the difference between a structured and an unstructured networking group? How many networking groups should I belong to? How can I get the most out of my time and energy I spend in a group? Must a networking group be face-gto-face or can it be done virtually?”
Examples of a structured group is BNI or a locally operated group like the ones Leni conducted. In these groups there is only one person from each occupation, such as real estate agent, accountant, printer, therapist, and life coach. Examples of a large unstructured group is your local Chamber of Commerce or a woman’s group. There are likely to be more than one person from each occupation in such groups. Leni suggests you belong to only one of each type and that you participate regularly and take a leadership role wherever you can. Use the convenient audio player below to learn more.
